Oscar winner Halley Berry and her hunk-a-dunk model boyfriend, Canadian Gabriel Aubry, had a daughter Sunday in Los Angeles. This is the first child for Berry, who has not yet revealed the newborn’s name. Berry first met Aubry in November 2005 during a Versace photo shoot. “The pheromones were flying,” Berry enthusiastically told Oprah during a recent interview.
People magazine is reporting a very odd couple met up for dinner last night. Britney Spears and Mel Gibson, who share a Malibu zip code and a drinking problem, were among a large group of people who dined Sunday at the Romanov restaurant in Studio City. The get-together lasted for two hours in a private dining room, according to People.
Paul McCartney was ordered today to pay $48.7-million (USD) to his estranged wife, Heather Mills. Outside the London courtroom, Mills said (predictably), “It was an incredible result to secure mine and my daughter's future,” adding she’s, “very, very, very pleased” with the outcome.
According to the judge’s ruling, Mills sought close to $250-million, while McCartney, the ex-Beatle, proposed she should receive $31.6-million, including her own assets, which the court assessed at $15.6 million. The court ultimately ruled that Mills should receive a lump payment of $33-million, plus the assets she already possesses.
This is not the final chapter in the Mills-McCartney divorce drama. Mills told reporters said she intends to appeal the decision to publish the full judgment, including details about her four-year-old daughter, Beatrice. Only a summary of the judgment was released Monday.
You can’t make this stuff up. Ola Brunkert, a former drummer for ABBA, died in a freak accident at his home in Mallorca.
According to published reports, Brunkert fell into a glass door in his dining room and his throat was slashed. He tried to slow the blood flow with a towel and apparently went outside to call neighbors for help. But he lost consciousness and collapsed. A neighbor found the 62-year-old’s body in the garden outside the musician's home Sunday evening.
And finally, no celebrity round-up is complete without another Britney Spears item. And here it is. According to court documents released today, Spears must pay $375,000 (USD) of her ex-husband, Kevin Federline’s legal bills. Family courts have the power to order one party to pay for the other's fees, based on income and needs.
Federline has previously told the court that he has no steady income, while Spears takes in more than $700,000 a month.
