A Look Into How Famous Moms-to-be Celebrate Their New Little One
From Morocco to carnivals to all things blue, celebrities go all out to celebrate their children-to-be.
Spring is in the air and everyone, including celebrities, seems to be going baby-crazy! Between starting to show, guessing the sex and having the baby, a baby shower is in order for the mom-to-be. Picking a theme, choosing food, registering for gifts, and inviting close friends and family are just some of the things even celebrities do to get ready for the baby shower. Here’s a glimpse into baby showers, celebrity style.
Color Themed Shower
- Jennifer Garner- She and husband Ben Affleck had two baby showers: one was completely for charity where all the gifts were donated to mothers-in-need. The second baby shower was completed with a purple theme in honor of then-future-daughter Violet.
- Christina Aguilera & Jordan Bratman- The couple also had a co-ed baby shower for son Max. The coupled had a blue theme fit for a little boy and a “Kiddyland Carnival” theme with clowns and games.
- Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott- This co-ed blue themed shower was a throw-back to childhood with grilled cheese sandwiches, mini corndogs and pigs-in-a-blanket. The party for son Liam also had an entire menu of blue desserts.
Miscellaneous Themes
- Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale- These two music stars had a co-ed shower for their son, Kingston. The couple’s friends came to participate including No Doubt band mate Tony Kanal. The shower had a lamb theme in honor of Stefani’s “L.A.M.B” clothing line.
- Nicole Richie & Joel Madden- Richie had a co-ed “Wizard of Oz” themed baby shower for daughter Harlow. The shower was complete with ruby slipper centerpieces, a yellow brick road lined with candy and a live band playing music from the movie. All gifts and proceeds were donated to the newly set-up Richie Madden Children’s Foundation.
Private Party
- Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt- As a fiercely private couple, very few details are known about the co-ed baby shower “Brangelina” had for daughter Shiloh. The private party was held in the African country of Namibia where Shiloh was born. Pictures of the party were stolen and one photograph was leaked of Pitt and Jolie with white feather boa’s on their heads.
- Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony- Another very guarded couple the baby shower was up to par with no real details being leaked. There were extremely expensive baby gifts like silk outfits for twins Max and Emme. However, the guests arrived with pink and blue gifts which helped to confirm Lopez was having twins.
International Food Inspired
- Heidi Klum & Seal- While celebrating the pregnancy of Henry, their first child together, Klum decided on a Mexican theme complete with Mexican food and sombreros.
- Britney Spears & Kevin Federline- For first son, Sean, Spears decided on a Moroccan themed shower. Guests were invited to arrive “barefoot and beautiful” and were greeted by a path of roses leading into tents. Henna tattoos were offered and guests played games like Word Scramble and Guess How Big the Belly is.
