L.A. Lawyers Say Sheen, Richards Have Amicably Resolved Issues in Divorce Case

Charlie Sheen doesn't have to cross the street anymore when he sees Denise Richards.

It's the first sign that the divorcing couple are trying to put the acrimony behind them. It may also mark the end of nonstop tabloid gossip.

The estranged couple agreed to terminate the restraining order that prohibited Sheen from coming within 300 yards of Richards and their two young girls, Sam, 2, and Lola, 1.

Sheen was allowed to visit his daughters only one day a week and with supervision. The order was issued after Richards alleged that Sheen threatened her and was a compulsive gambler. Sheen denied those allegations.

Lawyers for Sheen and Richards released details to the press on Monday after meeting with a judge. No judgment has been entered in the divorce.

Sheen's spokesman, Stan Rosenfield, gave the following statement from attorney Lance Spiegel to Reuters today: "The parties have resolved, on an interim basis, the issues that were previously before the court, including custody arrangements for the children. There are ongoing efforts to resolve the remaining issues on an amicable basis."

The pair now has to settle on a child-custody and property-settlement agreements. At stake may be the lucrative syndication money Sheen will get for his hit comedy series, Two and a Half Men.

Richards filed for divorce in March 2005, after three years of marriage.
