Cedric the Entertainer hosts 8th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration
It’s Super Bowl weekend. Which means that for those people in the U.S. who consider sports their religion, it’s the holiest time of year.
Sports worshippers know names, statistics, historical relevance, and world records. They turn to sports consistently week after week to be inspired and elated. But there’s also going to be a more traditional form of worship happening on Sunday
At 10 p.m., right after the big game between the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts, the Gospel Music Channel will be airing the 8th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, the show features Grammy award-winning artists including Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, and the legendary Patti LaBelle. Additionally, popular Gospel artists J Moss, Tye Tribbett, Jaci Velasquez and a host of the NFL’s top players are also scheduled to appear.
It’s the first and only Gospel music event sanctioned for Super Bowl weekend by the National Football League (NFL). Ranked by USA Today in 2006 as one of the top 3 "must see” events, the inspirational evening celebrates the best of the human spirit.
