It’s Friday and you all know what that means! People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive issue is on newsstands. I don’t normally like to be a hack for other publications but hunkety-hunk George Clooney is on the cover, so what the heck, ladies and gents, get thee to a Chapter’s or Borders or Barnes & Noble or whatever is in your neighbourhood and snatch up a copy.
I’ve been reading that competition was stiff this year? Who would you have chosen? Do-gooder-who-helps-the-hungry-but-left-his-wife-for-a-vixen, Brad Pitt? The man with unbelievable hair, Patrick Dempsey? I’m not going to even suggest Matt Damon because I think he has scary, oversized Chiclet teeth.
Anyway, as you know Clooney took top honours – it’s his second time being thus named.
Hollywood's consummate gentleman kicked things off with an Academy Award (winning Best Supporting Actor for Syriana), and Clooney cemented his reputation for social activism, working on behalf of causes to help the troubled Darfur region of Sudan.
And what did gorgeous George have to say for himself?
“This one’s going to be hard for Brad (Pitt) since he’s been Sexiest Man Alive twice. He’s enjoyed that mantle. I’d say ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ to him and he’d go, ‘Two-time.’ So that’s been taken away. We used to call him Two Time. So Brad’s going to be upset.”
